My condolences on Steves passing. He provided a great service with patience and expertise that is rarely seen.

Since I was unable to locate my specific problem with a 8/10 Y.O. Marine air vcp16 k with digital control I decided to ask in case a new tech becomes available. I have been using Evirosafe 22a froen for over 2 years with no problems and have found the claims that it runs cooler with less amperage correct

I had some leaks with this unit and when pulling it out for repair also noticed heavy rust  on the bottom compressor casingfrom a blocked derian line so I replaced it with a compatable toshiba rotary. All leaks are now sealed and I am holding a vacume But..... when I turn the unit on to charge it the low side sucks down hard and does not seem to get any return LP freon from the evap, There is no cooling and the unit eventually builds up high side pressure and pops the HP shut off at which time the pressors equalize. I have no freon route with the online manual and the reversing switch is hardly mentioned. I see a confusing array of capalary tube that do not look damaged at all.  1 Can this reversing valve cause a bockage if it is stuck , say in the middle of the heat and cool route?   2. Which operation does the does  coil pull in for. I am thinking heat btu the temp in Miami dos not go below the 85 deg controller high setting  3.  Does the cooling and hot side ues the same incoming Cap tube? 4 Is there any other likely place for a blockage? Those are my primary questions unless you know how I can obtain a flow chart.  Thanks RickCool
