I have a csd16k condenser that has failed. When starting the ac, I get waterflow but when it tries to start the compressor the breaker trips. Had an ac guy check it out and said compressor is burnt up. I am sure this is related to waterflow and have corrected that.  They quoted 2800 plus labor for new condensing unit. Sheez I can get a compressor for 650 from dometic. How do I tell if I need to replace the entire unit or just the compressor. I was told an "acid test" was in order and also verify no saltwater has entered the system. How is the acid test done? Removing condenser unit this weekend and looking for someone to do this.
