I have a Beneteau 343 sailboat (35ft) that has a Cruisair Emerald Series (410a) split system installed. The condenser is an EQ16, 120 Volt AC and the two air handlers are TVE 12 and TVE 4 respectively.  The TVE-12 supplies the forward V berth and salon area;  the TVE-4 supplies the aft berth.  The single digital control is a Q Logic Qht.

The system was installed in April '12 by a cruisair dealer in NC, before I purchased the boat in August '12.

I did not use the air conditioner until recently as the weather has warmed considerably here in south Louisiana.

I did have problems with the unit not heating adequately over the winter & the condensor was returned to Cruisair; they inspected the unit and found it to be within specs.  The system was then evacuated, recharged with 410a refrigerant, & tested for leaks.

I recently used the boat for an overnite trip and noticed that the boat did not cool the main cabin adequately and the cabin temperature did not seem to drop until the ambient outside temperature began to drop in the evening.

Today the outside temperature was 80 degrees.  Again after running the unit for an hour, the salon temperature did not drop; however, the aft berth did  cool down.  I checked the output temperature of the TVE 12 main salon unit; it registered 77 degrees at the output vent.  The TVE 4 aft berth unit registered 66 degrees at the output vent.

Running diagnostics using the digital Qht control, the low pressure switch test and high pressure switch test was normal. Water flow is good.

Since the condensor unit recently tested normal at the factory in February '12 and the TVE 4 evaporator /air handler in the aft berth seems to be cooling adequatedly.  My thinking is that there is some kind of malfunction with the TVE 12 evaporator / air handler.  The fan runs fine; it just doesn't put out cold enough air.  Any ideas as to what the problem is?
