I've been looking at these as need to replace the 24 yr old Marine Air 12K unit
in our 31 Tiara and can't decide what to go with. The current unit stills puts out 60 degree air but I think the bearings are going in the fan and takes forever to cool the boat and no humidity setting with old 3 knob control. The boat is on the Chesapeake and we definitley get some hot and humid days. We spend weeekends on the boat and have small kids.

Looking at the following all in 12K reverse cycle. Main concerns are performance and sound:

Marine Air Vector Turbo Series - around $2,000 plus $250 for control

Cruisair Stowaway Turbo series (STQ) - around $2,000 plus $250 for control

Marine Air Envirocomfort - on sale at WM for around $1,300 but oinly comes in 10K and 16K and dont want to downsize and think ducting for 16K requires 7"? Current is 6".  Understand this is the lower model from Dometic with metal vs composite pan, less advanced control, etc.

Webasto FCF - on sale at WM for around $1,300 but have heard mixed reviews.

Also do I want R-410 or 417?

Are the better Marine Air/Cruisair worth the extra $1,000?

I will say, the current Marine Air unit is 24 yrs old and still works...that says something for
their product.

Thanks for any input!
