Replacing new rotory controls on cool only unit

I know of no jumper connection to make a heat/cool thermostat functional for cooling only (it's not how a manual heat/cool t-stat works)...But there are cooling only thermostats...

Several years ago I had my Curisair compressor professonaly replaced. Also purchased 3 rotory controls. My aft cabin unit is the original 1969 7k btu COOL ONLY. I lost the instructions from the technician as he indicated that a JUMPER WIRE needs to be installed. Can you direct me please.
