Rusted Base Pan on Marine Air Systems 12,000 BTU unit

Why is the base pan of the unit rusting?   Can the base pan be replaced, ie, separated from the unit and a new base pan put in place?  Or could something else be rusting in the unit?  Currently, the condensate drains out of the base pan into a sump in

the bilge.

The drain pan rusts because it is made of steel on the older Marine Air units…Often it's due to a leaking hose clamp connection to or from the seawater condenser that is dripping seawater into the pan….

They used to offer replacement pans (not listed in the current price book) but it's tough to change one out without kinking some of the tubing and maybe causing a refrigerant leak…Everything must be lifted together…

The new Turbo unit have a composite pan that will never rust, and it also has drain channels in it for less standing water…
