Marine Air Passport II display problem

Hello! Nice forum…I have already learned a great deal by reading the posts. I have a Passport II that is reading 255 intermittently or going to AAA. I suppose the pad unit is bad? From what I have read it seems there are no replacement units for these? I re-soldered the thermistor and it worked for a while but now it's not working again. Any other ideas? Thanks in advance! Scott

Hi Scott~

When you refer to soldering the thermistor…Where do you mean ?…There is one on the bottom lip of the keypad itself (feel for a little bump) that is bypassed if you plug in an optional sensor cable on the circuit board…Are you referring to the optional sensor ?

If so…It can be removed (unplugged from it's telephone jack type connection) and the sensing will now happen from the keypad…You can also replace that optional sensor.

Steve~
