Hey Captain_Zap…THANKS!

i will not be able to pull the circuit board again for a week or so, but i am betting this is exactly what's up w/mine. i checked the triacs & relays and they were all fine…i have been working around the problem by forcing the triacs closed…so i have no thermostat (well the powerswitch), but at least i know the rest of the system works well.

i will let you know how i make out! thanks again!

Matt,

  Did you try to fix your circuit board as the Capt suggested. I sure would like to try it myself, but I need more details from Capt Zap.

  It seems to me like it is the relay. The problem started several months ago where when the unit was turned on to cool, it would work sometimes, and sometimes the compressor (and water pump) never kicked in. Initially I could wack the side of the control box and the compressor would power up and all was good. Now the compressor will not turn off (unless I flip the breaker). Once the power is turned on, it runs and runs and runs. Even after disconnecting the RJ45 jack cable to the control panel, it keeps on running.
