Hard Star Capacitor

I have a 16,000 BTU King Air on my trawler and our dock electrical sometimes has a problem when the AC first kicks on and other appliances are running. The lights dim and then all is well after the unit starts running. Would adding a hard start capacitor help with this? Thanks

Hi Chuck~

Yes it should…You can try a hard start kit from a local a/c-refrigeration supply house…A start relay is part of the package, and it's usually only two wires that plug on to your existing run cap.

If that does not work well enough, then this will work much better, but is quite a bit more money…
