What is the name of the chlorination system that can be added into to the raw water intake of a chilled water system that uses a chlorination system (NaCl) to continuously flush and keep the system clear of barnicle build up?

Hi Mark~

I'm not aware of a production system..per say…All I have seen are custom built.

I also don't recommend Chlorine…Bromine maybe…but Chlorine will eat metal parts.

Though not perfect…We have found that Copper (not pennies as they are now mostly zinc) does as good a job as anything…

Just cut a few pieces of copper tubing (soft drawn refrigeration copper) to fit in your strainer basket…It works like the active ingredient (copper oxide) in many bottom paints…As the copper deteriorates, it protects down stream from the source.
