Sorry Larry~

As I have tried to explain to others above...I don't answer questions in this section...

If you want help...Please join the forum & ask there...I'm happy to respond, and your answer can be more or less than a triac...There are triggers & a PC board too.

I have a PR3X-2C in which the pump relay is not working. Have 240Volts to the input side but zero out to the pump. Have wired the pump directly to the pump circuit breaker. I noticed in one of your comments that the relay, I assume its a TRIAC is a replaceable item. How do I order the item.

Hi Larry...The best thing to do here is either call me, or register in the Forum section & ask there...

There are a few things to check to determine what has failed...BTW if you have three 230 volt systems...It should be a PR3X-3C...3C being for three 230 volt triggers.

I have a PR3X-2C with three A/C units. The pump does not run for any of the three A/C. Voltage to the pump relay is 240 for all three units. Output from the relay is zero. Have bypassed the pump relay and the pump runs so I can run it using the pump breaker. I understand the relay is a replaceable item but don't see it listed on your web page. Would appreciate info on how to order. Larry Roesler

Hi Liz...Thanks for asking, but as I said above...I'm trying to build the Forum section...To answer a question here I first have to approve each one before it will post...
I'll be more than happy to answer your question if you join (no spam or other stuff) & ask your question in that section...That way we can converse without this approval thing...

Thanks,
Steve~

Hi Greg,

In my experience, a triac is either functional or not functional...It's the motors that differ, and no two sound the same at the same speed...
With shaded pole motors...They all have some hum when reducing the speed...It's just how much hum & where it occurs....

Sometimes replacing a fan or motor may change that noise...but it also may just show at a different RPM...
One thing you can try (and you didn't say what control you have) is adjusting the fan speed in the control to see if you can't either set it above or below that hum...By this I mean, program around the noise in the control's program mode...
Once the programming is changed the motor may drop or raise above the noisey RPM and you will not notice it because it does not ever stay at that noisy speed long enough to notice (it skips over it)

This is a good topic for the forum & I'd appreciate it if you would post your questions for discussion over there...I don't have to approve each to get them to post, and we can better discuss your adjustments over there.

Thanks,
Steve~

Less demand for 230 volt units...Not many boats that will use self contained units will have 230 volt available...

No they cannot be converted easily...Costs more than the unit is worth.

Steve,
Thanks for the advise, very helpfull. I found another unit last week but it's a 230v unit. Why are they so much less $, and can they be converted to 110 reasonably?
Thanks again,
Jeff
